ALTERNATIVE SITES <br />ORONO ICE ARENA <br />Corm. No. 9201 <br />A number of sites located between Highway 12 and County Road 6 and east of <br />Old Crystal Bay Road were investigated as follows: <br />1. Northeast comer .of school property (selected site) <br />5.35 acres ** satisfies program - needs sewer & water. <br />2. Northwest comer of school property, (park proposal) <br />Access prcblem, increased site development, school disfavor. <br />3. Commercial site at Highway 12 & Old Crystal Bay Road <br />4.6 acre, 2 party, small site, high land cost. <br />4. East of City Hall site <br />5.67 acre, road cost, poor soils, close sewer & water, high <br />development costs. <br />5.Southeast of City Hall site <br />5.17 acre on Highway 12, high .land cost?, close sewer & water, <br />low development cost, needs further investigation. <br />6. North of City Hall site . ... <br />3.0 acre, small site needs joint use of parking areas at <br />school, church, and city. Close sewer & water, soil ?, needs <br />approval of city. <br />Of the foregoing sites 1 and 6 are the most attractive. Site 1 has.high <br />sewer and water cost. Site 6 is small and contingent on city approval. <br />We recomnend proceeding with Site 1 unless circumstances cha^e and <br />present a more desirable site. <br />18.
