The home is currently set back 44.4’ from the front property line <br />and the proposed additions would continue along the same front line of the house resulting in a setback <br />of 43.9’ due to the slight angle of the home to the road. <br />The applicant initially requested a front yard setback variance for a proposed open pergola addition to <br />the front of the home to serve as a front entry piece. At the Plannirig Commission ’s recommendation <br />the applicant has removed the pergola from the variance request. <br />Front yard setback variances are required to construct both additions to the home as proposed. <br />Planning Commission Recommendation <br />On October 17, Planning Commission voted 4 - I to recommend approval of the front yard setback <br />variances for the home additions however recommended denial of the front yard setback variance for <br />the pergola. <br />Planning Staff Recommendation <br />Approval of the variances consistent with the Planning Commission recommendation. <br />COUNCIL ACTION Kn IQUESTED <br />Direct staff to draft a Resolution reflecting Council’s decision. <br />t <br />J
