National Night Out is an opportunity for citizens and neighborhoods to get <br />acquainted so they are better able to assist in crime prevention and promote community spirit. <br />The Police Dqrartment is coordinating neighboiliood visits upon request. A police officer will <br />be available to visit residents who are coordinating block parties or other nei^borhood events. <br />Depending on availability, the visit may include representatives from the Lx>ng Lake Fire <br />Department, McGnifT, an^or a special appearance by the North Tonka Crime Prevention <br />Coalition bag piper, Desyl Peterson. <br />Neighborhoods that would like an officer to stop by should contact the OPD by July 26 at <br />(952)249-4709. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED; <br />Motion to proclaim August 2,2005 as National Night Out in mder to strengthen neighborl <br />qririt and police-community relationships. <br />■ <br />.. ■ , VV'V
