Letter from Adjacent Neighbors •7 - <br />AppHcation Snmmary: <br />The applicant is requesting after-the-fact lake and side setback variances and a 0-75 ’ hardcover <br />variance to allow an existing roof top deck to remain 50 ’ from tie lake and 9’ from the southwest lot <br />line on the roof of the existing home. <br />The neighboring property owners have provided additional written comments and photos illustrating <br />their concerns. <br />Planning Commission Recommendation <br />On April 18, 2005, Planning Commission voted 4-3 to recommend approval of the after-the-fact <br />variances in conjunction with removal of all portions of the existing grade-level deck that extend <br />lakeward of the average lakeshore setback (approximately 140 s.f.). <br />Planning Staff Recommendation <br />Planning staff recommends approval of the after-the-fact lake and side setback variances and <br />hardcover variance with the stipulation that an equivalent square footage of hardcover be removed to <br />account for the new hardcover (52 s.f. deck stair). <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Direct staff to draft a Resolution reflecting Council’s decision. <br />!fiI
