) <br />■ <br />9 <br />;■* <br />ITi <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF ORONO <br />TO SUBMIT INFORMATION TO THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />AND TO ENTER INTO A GRANT AGREEMENT FOR FUNDING TO ASSIST THE <br />CITY IN THE PURCHASE OF THE BIG ISLAND VETERANS CAMP PROPERTY <br />WHEREAS, under the provisions contained in Minnesota Laws of 200S, Chapter 20, <br />Article 1, Section 23, Subdivision 3, the 2005 Legislature appropriated $2,000,000 for a one-time <br />grant to the City of Orono to assist the City in the purchase of the Big Island Veterans Camp <br />property; and <br />WHV41EAS, to receive this money, the City must submit required information and enter <br />into a grant agreement with the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic <br />Development. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Orono has the legal authority to apply <br />for the grant, and the financial, technical, and managerial capacity to ensure proper construction, <br />operation and maintenance of th<: project 'or its design life. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orono <br />that the City of Orono is authorized to enter into a grant agreement with the State of Minnesota <br />for $2,000,000 for the funding of the purchase of the Big Island Veterans Ca,np property. <br />I CERTIFY THAT the above resolution was adopt d bv the Orono City Council <br />on June 13,2005. <br />SIGNED:WITNESSED: <br />Barbara A.
