a.- <br />A RESOLUTION PROVIDING THAT <br />NO PORTION OF THE COSTS OF IMPROVEMENTS TO TOWNLINE ROAP <br />WILL BE ASSESSED TO THE TOWNLINE ROAD AREA PROPERTY OWNERS <br />WHEREAS, the Cities of Orono, Independence, and Medina are planning to make <br />improvements to Townline Road in the coming years; and <br />WHEREAS, the improvements will involve installing a new base and new pavement to a <br />9>ton standard, with a rural design and a width similar to the current road width; and <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the cost of the improvements is estimated to be approximately $200,000; <br />WHEREAS, the Cities have agreed to share the costs as follows: Orono 20.83%, <br />Independence 31.25%, Medina 47.92%.; and <br />WHEREAS, Orono’s share of the costs will be equivalent to the cost of an overlay, <br />which is paid through general tax revenues; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the consensus of the Council that Orono’s share of the costs should be <br />funded through general tax revenues rather than through assessments levied on the properties in <br />the Townline Road area. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orono City Council does hereby <br />determine that no portion of the costs of improvements to Townline Road will be assessed to the <br />Townline Road area propeity owners. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota at a regular meeting held <br />this 13th day of June, 2005. <br />ATTEST; <br />Linda S.
