This watermain is in poor shape and <br />repair of this watermain results in major traffic disruptions on Highway 12. <br />A new 12" watermain will be installed from the 12" watermain in Kelley Parkway to the industrial <br />park The watermain virill be installed using directional boring to allow for crossing under Highway <br />12 and minimizing disturbance in the industrial park. This project will provide a 12” watemain <br />connection between the water tower and the industrial park which will substantially increase the fire <br />flow capacity to the industrial park. <br />This project was advertised for bids in the Construction Bulletin and the Laker/Pioneer newspaj^rs <br />with a bid opening at 11 :00 a.m. ^n May 16*^. Nine bids were submitted, and the lowest responsible <br />bid received was from MinnComm Utility Construction Mora, Minnesota in the amount of <br />$92,665.00. MinnComm has satisfactorily completed other projects for the City and me <br />recommendation is to award the contract for this project to MinnComm. Tlus project was included in <br />the 2004 Water Fund Cqiital budget, so a budget adjustment will be required to complete this work <br />in 2005. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED; <br />Award contract for the industrial park watermain improvements to MinnComm Utility Construction <br />Company Mora, Minnesota in the amount of $92,665.00 to be ftmded from the Water Fund with a <br />budget adjustment to the 2005 Water Fund capital budget to reflect this e.xpenditure.
