MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Moaday, May 9,2005 <br />7:00 o’clock pan. <br />(#0S>3103 Jack aad Karl Oboa, Coatiaaed) <br />Olson stated he would prefer the width. <br />Jurgens stated the concern of the Planning Commission was the amount of structural coverage on this lot <br />and that the garage could be redesigned to better meet the structural coverage limits. <br />McMillan stated she also has a concern with adding structural coverage on lots, noting that at some point <br />lots do reach their limit. McMillan recommended that the motion also include the stipulation that no <br />additional structural coverage be allowed on this lot in the future. <br />Peterson agreed to amend her motion to include a stipulation on future structural coverage. <br />Sansevere recommended some type of landscape screening also be included in the motion. <br />Gafiron stated Staff would prefer to see a landscape plan. <br />Olson indicated he would be willing to landscape the back of the garage. <br />Pctcrsoi anendcd her motioB to direct Staff to draft a rcsolutioo reflecting approval of a 22* by 20 <br />foot garage for Application INI5-3103, Jack and Kari Olson, 1966 Shadywood Road, snbject to the <br />snbaittal aad approval of a landscape plan for the backside of the garage, and further snbject to <br />the coadHIoa that no additional structural coverage and/or hardcover outside the ealsting footprint <br />wIM be allowed oa this lot. <br />Gaffron inquired whether a second story could be added above this garage or house. <br />Murphy stated the addition of a second story is for future discussion. <br />Gaffron stated direction could be given to the future council. <br />Peterson ftirther amended her motion to also require the hardcover removab as proposed in Staff's <br />report White seconded the amended motion. VOTE: Ayes S, Nays 0. <br />3. 994-3060 MICHAEL AND DONNA EBERTZ, 1220 TONKAWA ROAD - AFTER-THE- <br />FACT CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT <br />Michael Ebertz, Applicant, was present. <br />Curtis stated the applicant is requesting after-the-fact approval of a conditional use permit in order to <br />construct a boulder wall, re-gra^ the lake yard, and a hardcover variance due to the increase in the <br />hardcover percentage with the square footage from the proposed rock walls. The applicant is proposing <br />to increase the hardcover within the 0-75’ zone from 7.84 percent to 8.7 percent. <br />PAGES <br />J
