Pollution Prevention and Housekeeping <br />The permit requirements purposely were not designed to be highly prescriptive in nature in <br />recognition of the fact that every community is unique with differing storm water issues and <br />available resources. The intent of the pennit requirements is that each community develops its own <br />unique SWPPP based on a self a.sse.ssment procc.ss and the development of BMPs that address storm <br />water pollution control to the Maximum Hxtent Practical. 'Ilie City developed a SWPPP with 43 <br />BMl^s to address the required six minimum control measures. <br />Annual Meeting <br />A public hearing notice for the annual meeting was published in the January S"* I.aker/Pionccr <br />newspapers. The purpose oi'this meeting is to provide an opportunity for public comments on the <br />Orono WDES Pha.se II Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) which contains a li.sting of <br />Best Management Practices (BMPs) for storm water management, fhe following items should be <br />discussed at the meeting. <br />o The original SWPPP <br />o Status of compliance with Pennit conditions <br />o The appropriateness of the BMPs li.stcd in the SWPPP <br />o Progress toward achieving the Measurable Goals <br />The OrigiBMl SWPPP <br />'I'hc stonn water permit requirements purjxKScly were not designed to be highly piescriptivc in nature <br />in recognition of the fact that every community is unique with difTcring storm water issues and <br />available resources.
