r <br />ORONO HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING UPDATE: Principal, Dr. Carl Shutts <br />reported it has been an exciting year so far. In this first year <br />of service goals, the National Honor Society will present- a <br />$22,000 check to the Florida school they assisted througn the <br />"hurricane relief" fund raising campaign. He reported Orono High <br />School is promoting "sober prom", sobriety expectations are being <br />shared with the students and parents. Dr. Shutts introduced Jill <br />Brudigan a counselor at the high school. Ms. Brudigan reported <br />on the online -’Discover" Career Planning program. She reported <br />tlie goal of the program is to help students find the college that <br />is the best fit for them. <br />ORONO SIGN: The Boaid received a recommendation regarding a new <br />Orono electronic sign. <br />Dr. Shutts reported on the steps taken in exploring possibilities <br />of updating tlie Orono school signboard. Dr. Shutts stated we are <br />looking to get more messages out, more tim<?ly, and efficiently. <br />UPON MOTION by Martha Van de Ven, seconded by Dick Lewis, the <br />Board of Education appioved t.iking tlie next steps to replace the <br />existing sign. <br />Motion Carried. <br />ANNUAL FINANCIAL AUDIT REPORT:The Board received a <br />jecommerulat ion to accept the 2003-04 fitumcial audit report as <br />snbmitteci l>y Malloy, Montague?, Karnowski, Radosevich t, Co., P.A. <br />Mr. Lawson introduced Ken Malloy wl»o gave a brief overview of the <br />audit lesults.
