As a <br />final check on the specifications, members of the Long Lake Fire Department recently reviewed <br />the specifications with the manufacturer. Several items were identified that needed to be <br />changed. The list of items is attached. <br />A brief summary of the changes is as follows: <br />Item 1 is the deletion of adjustable .shelves and replacement with slide out/tilt down shelves in <br />the top storage areas. This enables safer access to those shch es that firefighters have to reach <br />over their heads to access. <br />Item 2 is the deletion of an SCBA bottle storage tube. <br />Item 3 is the addition of a slide out tray to enable easier and safer access to items in a low .storage <br />compartment. <br />Item 4 is the addition of outlets to enable more effective use of the portable generator. <br />Item 5 is a cost reduction due to the use of existing hose on the hose reel, vs. buying new hose. <br />Item 6 is the addition of a non-slip protective surface to all shelving areas. <br />Item 7 is the use of LED lights vs. regular light bulbs for the clearance, brake, and turn lights, so <br />that they can be integrated into the emergency strobe (flashing) light system. <br />The total net cost of the additions and deletions is $2,510. <br />fony Roc, the Long Lake Fire Administrative Officer, will attend the meeting to answer any <br />questions the Council may have regarding the change order. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to approve the change order for the Navarre Fire Rescue Vehicle, in the amount of <br />$2,510, and to approve a budget adjustment in the Improvement and Equipment Outlay Fund to <br />reflect the additional expenditure. <br />mam
