ANIMAL CONTROL CONTRACT Coutinucd <br />An "emergency call-out" is defined as u specific request for animal control serv'ice dining times <br />that an officer is not on duty. If an Orono Animal Control Officer is on duty, even though not <br />patrolling in SHOREWOOD, said officer will respond. If deemed appropriate by the Orono <br />officer on call, a situation may be dealt with over the phone. <br />ORONO agrees to coordinate ser\ ices with the Paws, Claws, and Hooves, 10500 Great Plains <br />Boulevard, Chaska, MN, 55318, which will serve as the impound facility, as long as this <br />arrangement is agreeable with Paws, Claws and Hooves. SHOREWOOD agrees to be billed <br />directly by Paws, Claws and Hooves, and to pay for impound, boarding, euthanasia, disposal, <br />or any other veterinary fee as charged by the impound facility. When requested, the Animal <br />Control Officer will review these bills to detennine if the charges appeal proper. <br />7.ORONO shall furnish monthly reports to SHOREWOOD reflecting the charges for animal <br />control sei-vices, which each city agrees to pay ORONO within 30 days of being billed. <br />8.When an animal is impounded pursuant to this animal control contract, said animal shall be <br />held in accordance with Minnesota Statute 35.71. In the event that an impounded animal is <br />unclaimed, the animal becomes the sole responsibility of Paws, Claws and Hooves to be placed <br />or disposed of at their discretion. <br />9. ORONO shall maintain reports on Orono forms, or utilize specific forms as requested by <br />SHOREWOOD. A monthly report of activity shall be provided to SHOIU^WOOD. <br />10. The City of ORONO will indemnify and hold hannless SHOREWOOD for claims, suits, <br />actions, damages and loss arising out of the negligence or misconduct of the City of ORONO <br />in conjunction with this agreement. <br />11. SHOREWOOD agrees to pay ORONO for services in the perfonnance of this contract, <br />pursuant to Paragraph 15 of this contract, as follows: <br />A) Annual Fee for patrol and emergency pick-ups.............................S20,l 02.90 <br />B) Price per deceased animal disposed of by the City <br />of ORONO...........................................................$5000 <br />C) It is agreed that if the designated boarding facility or cuthanasia/disposal service is <br />unavailable, SHOREWOOD shall authorize ORONO to obtain these services elsewhere, <br />and SHOREWOOD shall pay ORONO the rates of the alternative facility. <br />1
