■ * u <br />f-. •'• <br />^■». . t. <br />43091.1 <br />MINUTES OP FACILITIES COMMITTEE FOR <br />APRIL 29, 1991 <br />The following people were present: <br />Facility Committee members - George Johnson, C. Steven Wilson, <br />Morris Nelson, Gretchen Menzel and Nancy Walsh. (Lyndon Stubbs <br />had called from Fargo earlier in the afternoon indicating he had <br />car trouble and was unable to make the meeting but fully <br />supported the draft presented.) <br />Public - John Farnham, Curt Quady, Wilbur Andersen, Gray Printup <br />and Desyl Peterson. <br />Staff/Consultant - Jack Boarman, John Gerhardson and Mark <br />Bernhardson. <br />At 7:05 the meeting was convened by C. Steven Wilson who <br />presented a draft of a Committee Report that he had prepared <br />summarizing the Committee's work from last year and which had <br />previously been mailed to Facility Committee members. Mr. <br />Farnham wondered if he would be able to present his prepared <br />response to the proposed Committee Report. Mr. Wilson indicated <br />that he felt that the purpose of tonight's meeting was to allow <br />the Facilities Committee to prepare their recommendation and it <br />would be more appropriate for Mr. Farnham to present his reaction <br />to the Planning Commission at the public hearing scheduled for <br />Monday, May 6, 1991. Mr. Wilson indicated that members of the <br />public were welcome at the Facilities Committee meeting. <br />Mr. Wilson stated that Council had requested that the verbal <br />findings the Facilities Committee had presented to them last <br />summer regarding site be presented in written form to them. Mr. <br />Wilson then asked for general comments from the Committee. <br />Mr. George Johnson asked whether the draft addressed both the <br />Committee's strong feeling that the need exists for a new <br />facilities together with the site recommendation. Mr. Wilson <br />agreed that was correct. Mr. Farnham stated that his group also <br />agreed that there was a need but differed on the site and size <br />Issues. <br />Mr. Wilson then began to go through each of the paragraphs of the <br />draft recommendation.
