<br />Capital Improvement Plan. The City formally adopts an annual <br />Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) that is updated on an annual basis. <br />The 2023 update is being worked on and will be presented to the <br />committee in October. The 2023 CIP will also be approved at the <br />December 12th meeting. The CIP is a planning document only and <br />approval of the CIP does not constitute approval of any expenditures. <br /> <br />Long Lake Fire Budgets. As required in the Fire Services <br />Agreement with Long Lake, the 2023 Operating and Capital budgets <br />are included for your review. These budgets will on the agenda for <br />approval at the September 26th council meeting. Approval of the <br />2023 Fire Capital Budget does obligate the City to fund the City’s <br />share of the 2023 purchases. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Final Budget Adoption and TNT. Adoption of the Preliminary <br />Budget and Tax Levy is just one step in the budget process. The <br />preliminary budget can be increased or decreased prior to adoption <br />of the final budget. The preliminary tax levy however cannot by <br />increased after it is adopted. However, it can be decreased prior to <br />the adoption of the final levy. <br /> <br />The final budget and levy will be adopted on December 12th after <br />the Truth in Taxation public hearing held at 6:00 pm. By law public <br />input must be allowed prior to the adoption of the final budget and <br />levy. <br /> <br />iii <br />City of Orono <br />Preliminary Budget
