To gain approval of the Summit Beach Master Plan. <br /> <br />2. Background. The Summit Beach committee was formed in early 2022 consisting of Councilmember <br />Victoria Seals, Park Commission Chair Brian Roath, Park Commissioner, Jan Berg, and Park <br />Commissioner Rick Carter. The committee worked with city staff and Bolton & Menk to develop the <br />process on how to initiate a Master Plan for Summit Beach. Surveys and open houses were used to <br />engage the public and to gather input on potential park amenities. The proposed updates were presented <br />at an open house at City Hall and were well received by those in attendance. The Park Commission <br />formally recommended adopting the Master Plan at their November 7th meeting. <br /> <br />3. Proposed Improvements. See Exhibit A. <br /> <br />4. Timeline. The Park Commission would like to implement elements of the Master Plan as soon as <br />2023. The updates that could occur soon would be items could fit into the operations budget such as <br />expanding the beach, the buoy rope barrier, etc. The Park Commission recommended waiting to <br />implement the larger projects until 2025 and beyond. <br /> <br />5. Staff Recommendation.
