But we realize that the work has just begun. <br />The next decade is crucial — <br />.. It will require an intense, coordinated effort involving many <br />disciplines and all people working together to; <br />Because... <br />International water issues, as a result of overuse and misuse <br />of water, are now recognized by most organizations as <br />having reached crisis proportions: <br />The major efforts necessary to keep our waters usable will <br />require multi-disciplinary responses; <br />... It is essential to have everyone working together in a global <br />“team effort"; <br />We think it's TIME to do something — now <br />—• Keep pace with rapid developments in scientific <br />processes, theories, and equipment: <br />— Predict potential impacts on water supplies; <br />— Develop alternative methods for using water supplies; <br />— Determine priorities for water use; <br />— Consider the impacts of water redistribution; <br />— Discover natural interrelationships necessary to <br />maintain the biological balance needed in water <br />systems; <br />— Underwrite research to clean up unnatural manmade <br />materials: <br />and <br />Because... <br />... The Freshwater Foundation has as its primary goal <br />"keeping our waters usable"; <br />...
