This letter is in response to the special condition
number two (#2) of that notice which requests a report from the DNR.
I made a field investigation of Mr. Ulrich's property on May 10, 1983
At that time, I noted evidence of shoreline erosion problems in the
small lagoon. The erosion is, in ray opinion, a combination of muskrat
activity combined with poor soil types. Thu DUR's issuance of Permit
83-6150 is based on the minimal impact of the proposed wall. Also,
other alterantives (such as riprap) would not provide greater protection
than the proposed wall.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Johh Line Stine, Area Hydrologist
MeUfro Region Division of Waters
JLS/ch
Enclosure
cc: William Ulrich
Peter Bachmann, BHH & G
AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
