The <br />proposed improvements will correct severe erosxon the shoreIxne ^nd <br />steep lakeshore banks, removal of storm draxnage txles that draxn dxrectiy <br />into the lake and concrete stairs located right at the lakes ore. <br />The improvement program involves the cutting into of a ridge that <br />ruL alonrthe top of the bank and the filling of a draxnage dxtch along <br />the east property line that will now permxt the water to fan out evenly <br />over the lakeshore banks rather than into the draxnage catch dxtch on <br />i-he east Inspect the east property line down to the lakeshore/concrete <br />stIir^^no^e ?hf damage ILe by the erosion. The drainage tiles/pipes <br />along that area, visible at the lakeshore, will be removed. The shoreli <br />will^be riprapped - the City Engineer wants the area to be riprapped <br />designated on the plans. <br />The trees to be removed are either dead, partially dead or damaged by <br />Ihl windstorms this year. The concrete stairs will be replaced by an <br />accesdstairs more centrally located on the lakeshore - constructed of <br />aonroved treated wood. No deck area proposed for spaced wooden access <br />stairs. The stairs will provide a gradual ascent by winding and curving <br />down the steep bank. <br />Staff recommendation: <br />Tanager Lake consisting of the following steps. <br />1. The alteration of ridge along top of bank and filling of draxnage <br />swale/ditch on east side of property <br />2. Construction of spaced wooden access staxrs down lakeshore bank <br />3. Removal of drainage tilfes, concrete stairs and existing dock <br />4. Riprap of shoreline - extent of riprap to be designated on plans <br />5.
