fINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING HELD AUGUST 21, 1972 <br />1. Searles - The apartment building would <br />have to have a separate conditional use <br />application and be judged on its own merits. <br />2» The shopping center was a permitted use, <br />but still would have to have approval for a <br />building permit from the Village Council. <br />3. Members felt that for a complex such as <br />this, his plans were inadequate and sliowed <br />no landscaping whatsoever." <br />Mr. Wear here stated that for now he was only <br />interested in the gasoline island as presented <br />on the plan. <br />Soutlworth moved, Ryerse seconded, t»iat <br />approval for the gasoline concept only be <br />recommended conditioned on all zoning <br />requirements being met. Motion, Ayes (8) <br />Nays (0). <br />Scott V/hitnah represented himself in a petition <br />for lot size and width variance on Lot 17, <br />Wallaces Addition to Shady\vood. Rrought out: <br />1. He was placing another 5* on the front of <br />the lot to make it 50* <br />2. He felt he was in conformity v/ith tiie <br />neighborhood and to make liim keep^ tA*/o lous was <br />depriving him of equal rights wita tiie otiier <br />residences on taat street. (Gascii here brought <br />out that there were only two other lots of 100’ <br />or over on tliis street, all others being mostly <br />so* with some 60'; also, the area was entirely <br />built up and no precedent could be set for the <br />future on that street). <br />3. He was economically or physically unable <br />retain this large a parcel <br />4. There was a sewer unit charge placed on <br />the lot <br />5. That he now had a buyer for the lot who <br />wished to *place a beautiful home on it and <br />that the abutting neighbors were in favor of <br />this usage. <br />Gascn moved, Searles seconded, that due to <br />the above, approval be recommended. Motion, <br />Ayes (8) - Nays (0). <br />C.
