Review the <br />enclosed plat maps and the lists of notified property owners com­ <br />piled by staff. <br />2. Proposed Density <br />Lots 1,2 and 3 Lydiard Park have been included in current plat as <br />Lot 1. The subject property was approved for a duplex in December <br />of 1977. Lot 7, Lydiard Park is combined with proposed Lot 3 <br />removing potential building site as combined Lots 7 & 8. Lot 8 remains <br />as the driveway to the Edwards home. A total reduction of 2 potential <br />residential units. <br />Note, density is not a real issue since setback variances and the <br />conditional use permit were issued in 1977 under exactly the same <br />ordinances existing now. The applications expired and must be <br />renewed but denying them now with no change in facts from 1977 would <br />never be upheld in court. <br />Sewer <br />The Lehman house and Edwards' properties are not hooked up to sewer. <br />The septic systems do not conform to any kind of current code because <br />of proximity to the lake. These three properties and the Paul Smith <br />cabin on Dunwoody are the last lakeshore houses in the urban part of <br />Orono that are not connected to sewer. Council has ordered Smith to <br />connect. <br />These two houses (plus the vacant lot of Edwards) were not included <br />in the 1964 Carman Street sewer project because they did not abut the <br />street and because a pump is needed. They should have been included in <br />any number of projects over the years, especially when the rest of Casco <br />Point was done in 1965, but they were not.
