The <br />purpose of this study is to review the existing land use patterns <br />and zoning in light of the problems and opportunities associated <br />with a number of alternative land use patterns within the Study <br />Area (see the attached Exhibit). Among the key issues to be <br />discussed that relate to the alternative land use patterns will <br />be attendant public improvements, which include but are not <br />limited to streets, sewer and water utilities, storm sewers, etc. <br />The City has liired a consultant, John Shardlow of Dahlgren, <br />Shardlow n-d Uban, Inc. to assist the City Staff, the Planning <br />Commission, and City Council in this process. The Study process <br />has been designed to allow opportunities for public participation <br />at every stage of the process. However, it is important for you <br />to realize that decisions made in the beginning stages of the <br />study will ha \^e a direct impact on the final results. <br />On October 7, 1985 at 7:00 p.m., the Orono City Council will <br />consider an ordinance limiting development within the defined <br />study area during the comprehensive study period. A copy of the <br />legal notice ordering the public hearing has been enclosed for <br />your information. <br />It is your responsibility to monitor this process and to <br />participate in a timely manner. Please keep the following <br />schedule for your reference through this process. This schedule <br />may be modified through the Study period.
