► <br />ORONO PLANNING COflMISSION MEETING HELD JUNE 18, 1990 <br />ZONING FILE #1539-FILKINS CONTINUED <br />Gaffron noted that a portion of the hardcover shown is a -.ea <br />wall that is providing erosion control. <br />Johnson asked Mr. Filkins if the County had acquired the <br />additional right-of-way subsequent to the garage bexng <br />constructed. <br />Mr. rilkins stated that the garage was constructed prior to <br />the additional right-of-way being taken. <br />Gaffron stated that there is uncertainty as to the sequence <br />of events. He said that the survey does not provide any <br />information confirming when the current right-of-way <br />established. <br />v/as <br />Kelley indicated that he would prefer to have the garage <br />attached to the house to provide maximum distance between Mr. <br />Filkins and the neighboring property. Kelley also stated that he <br />v/ould request that as much hardcover as possible be removed from <br />the lake side of the house. <br />Bellows questioned whether it v/ould be possible to relocate <br />the curb cut. <br />Gaffron stated that relocation of the curb cut would be <br />possible. <br />There were no comments from the public regarding this matter <br />and the Public Hearing was closed. <br />It was moved by Hanson, seconded by Kelley, to recommend <br />approval of the side setback variance according to applicant's <br />plan II. Kelley clarified that the approval recommends that the <br />curb cut be left as is, the garage is to be attached to the right <br />side of the house. He added that hardcover on the lake side of <br />the house and in the northeast corner should be removed to <br />achieve a net reduction in hardcover from 53% to 46%. Motion, <br />Ayes-4, Johnson, Nay, Cohen, abstained. Motion carried.
