L <br />i <br />May 23, 1990 <br />Orono Planning Commission; <br />I am applying for a hardship variance due to the fact that <br />Hennepin County widened and improved Shoreline Drive and in <br />doing so encroached unto and through the garage at 3905 Shore­ <br />line Drive. This has created a hardship because it now clouds <br />the title with their new right-of-way and a new mortgage cannot <br />be placed on the property. <br />The garage, as it is now positioned on Che property, almost <br />touchs the west side lot line and the County's right-of-way. <br />It also makes it dangerous to enter and exit onto Shoreline <br />Drive. <br />I am proposing to attach the garage to the home which would <br />completely solve the title problems connected with the County's <br />right-of-way encroachment and would provide an 8' side setback. <br />It would also create a safer drivewav situation. It would alsom <br />clean up and enhance the overall appearance of the property. <br />Thank you for your consideration. <br />David Filkins
