No employee will be allowed to receive more than 20 days of donated sick leave for <br />any single major medical condition without the additional approval of the City <br />Administrator; <br />5. An employee may donate no more than 16 hours per calendar year to a single fellow <br />employee. This will not prohibit donating up to 16 hours each per year to additional <br />employees; <br />6. Donation of sick leave will not be allowed once an employee is judged to be disabled <br />by the major medical condition and will not be returning to work. <br />7. Donation of sick leave by city employees will be completely voluntary. No city <br />employee may pressure or otherwise attempt to influence a city employee to donate <br />sick leave. <br />8. An application to donate sick leave must be made to the city administrator’s office on <br />forms designated for that purpose. <br />9. The City Administrator shall have the right to deny use of donated sick leave or limit <br />its use when determined as necessary and in the best interest of the City of Orono. <br /> <br />Section 11.02 Vacation Leave <br />The city believes that vacation is important to the health and well-being of our employees and as <br />such, provides paid vacation for eligible employees for rest and recuperation. <br /> <br />Vacation hours are earned based on calendar months of service and accrue as indicated below: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />a. Eligibility <br />Full-time employees will earn vacation leave in accordance with the above schedule. <br /> <br />Part-time employees who work at least 20 hours per week on a regular basis will accrue vacation <br />leave on a prorated basis of the full-time employee schedule. Part-time employees who work less <br />than 20 hours per week on a regular basis, temporary and seasonal employees will not earn or accrue <br />vacation leave. <br /> <br />b. Accrual Rate <br />0 through 5 years of continuous service; <br /> <br />80 Hours 3.08/pay period <br />6 through 10 years of continuous service; <br /> <br />120 Hours 4.62/pay period <br />11 through 15 years of continuous service; 144 Hours 5.54/pay period <br />16 through 18 years of continuous <br />service; <br />160 Hours 6.15/pay period <br />18 through 20 years of continuous service; 176 Hours 6.77/pay period <br />Over 20 years of continuous service; 192 Hours 7.38/pay period
