This application is regarding a conditional use permit (CUP) for a guest house use. <br /> <br />2. MN§15.99 Application Deadline. The application was received and considered to be complete on <br />April 20, 2022. The 60-Day review period has been extended and now expires on August 18, 2022. <br /> <br />3. Background/ Summary. The applicant is proposing to construct a second story addition over the <br />existing oversized detached garage to serve as a guest house use. A guest house uses requires a <br />conditional use permit. The property is just over 7 acres in area within the LR-1A zoning district where <br />2.0 acres is the minimum size. A minimum of 4.0 acres is required for a guest house use in this district. <br />The ±1,300 square foot building is conforming with respect to size and location. <br /> <br />4. Planning Commission Vote and Comment. On June 21, 2022, the Planning Commission held a <br />public hearing. Following the public hearing the Planning Commission voted 6 to 0 on a motion in favor <br />of approval for the requested conditional use permit subject to the owners upgrading the existing 5- <br />bedroom septic system to serve the additional bedroom(s) in the guest house. <br /> <br />5. Public Comment. No comments from the public were received. <br /> <br />6. Staff Recommendation.
