Orono City Council <br />Work Session Minutes <br />Monday, June 27, 2022 <br />Council Chambers <br />5:30 p.m. <br />Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />PRESENT: Mayo r Dennis Walsh, Council Members Victoria Seals, and Matt Johnson. Staff <br />members present were City Administrator/Engineer Adam Edwards, Interim Community <br />Development Director Laura Oakden, Police Chief and City Clerk Anna Carlson. <br /> <br />1. Budget Discussion <br />Finance Director Ron Olson presented the 2023 budget item. He explained that the city <br />will utilize the Budget Committee to assist preparing the budget that will be adopted at <br />the end of the year. This process is slightly different then what has been used in years <br />past. He discussed the tax levy and Budget Overview. Factors affecting some increases <br />in budget are inflation, wages, liability and workers comp Insurance, and Health <br />Insurance premiums. <br /> <br />There will be some revenues that will be going up slightly which will offset some of the <br />increases. <br /> <br />Mayor Dennis Walsh noted that the budget 2023 may have some challenges but overall <br />we should be in good shape. <br /> <br /> <br />Adjourned: 5:49 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />CITY OF ORONO: <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: ________________________________ <br /> Dennis Walsh, Mayor <br /> <br />_________________________________ <br />Anna Carlson, City Clerk
