The purpose of this action item is to gain approval for a transient merchant license for Mark <br />Lazarchic/Renaissance Fireworks Inc. <br />TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE <br />Applicant: Mark Lazarchic/Renaissance Fireworks Inc. <br />Activity: Sale of Consumer Fireworks <br />Location: 3435 Shoreline Drive <br />Date: June 24 through July 5, 2022 <br />Time: 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. <br />2.Background. Mr. Lazarchich has submitted an application for a transient merchant license to sell <br />fireworks from a tent located in the parking lot at 3435 Shoreline Drive. Orono's City code currently <br />allows a transient merchant to be licensed initially for 10 days, with the option for the City Council, at its <br />sole discretion, to grant an extension for up to 50 additional days. In addition, the code limits the hours of <br />activity from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Lazarchic has also submitted a request for Council approval to <br />allow 7 additional days of activity and an additional 1 hour of evening sales each day. <br />3.Recommendation. Staff recommends approval or the transient merchant license as well as the <br />additional day and additional hours of operation; provided no problems are reported.
