PC Exhibit F <br /> LA22-000032 <br /> • <br /> Variance Requests for Trent & Julie Jones <br /> 3349 Crystal Bay Road, Orono, Minnesota <br /> Nanative: <br /> Our request has two parts.Part One is the re-submittal of a variance proved on September 9, <br /> 2015,however,the Owner was unable to start the project within the time framework.Trent and <br /> Julie Jones(a.k.a.Julie Lensing)are requesting the PC and Council to review the former <br /> application and approve a new variance. <br /> The two core points in the 2015 application were;1)Enlarging the second floor Master <br /> Bedroom by expanding over the existing cantilevered Family Room walls below.The <br /> variance was required because the changes occurred within the 75'setback. <br /> 2)No additional hardcover was added in 2015. <br /> Part Two is a new variance request for the expansion to their very small 56.7 SF deck in order to; <br /> 1)regain lake views compromised by the remodeling of the home immediately to the west and <br /> 2)to make their two-person deck a bit more functional and comfortable. <br /> Again this request has no additional hard cover,but happens within the 75'lake shore <br /> �• setback triggering this variance application. <br /> Outline of Variance Requests: <br /> 1 Renew the expired variance dated September 2015 <br /> 2 Approve a variance for the deck expansion. <br /> Note: There are no requests for side or rear yard setback changes. <br /> Hardship Consideration: <br /> 1 The hardship explanation in the 2015 request remains the same as the original request.An <br /> abbreviated part of the 2015 application is included in this submittal-pages 11,12 and 13. <br /> 2 The current north-facing deck is very small(56.7 SF)barely accommodating two people. <br /> It had a full 180 degree view and sun exposure that kept it reasonably warm from April thru <br /> August.The approved expansions of the home on their west side has impacted both their <br /> view and sunlight.
