Purpose. The purpose of this action item is to gain council guidance on planning for the 2023 Street <br />Maintenance Project. <br /> <br />2. Background. In order to maintain our city streets the engineering department recommends a portion <br />of the city’s streets for various pavement preservation activities. Streets are inspected and assigned a <br />pavement condition index (PCI) rating. The PCI allows street to street comparisons and provides the data <br />required to conduct street maintenance programming and planning. <br /> <br />3. 2023 Recommended Streets. For 2023 the recommended roads are as follows. <br />Road Pavement <br />Cost Estimate <br />PCI Remarks <br />Fox Street (Brown to <br />Orono Orchard) <br />$ 1,040,200 58 This road was identified for 2023 during last year’s <br />review. Road is permanently load restricted until <br />repaired. A Resident group has submitted a petition <br />requesting the city consider include a trail as part of <br />the project. <br />Townline Road <br /> <br />$ 196,200 51 This road serves residents of Orono, Independence <br />and Medina. Medina and Independence have <br />expressed interest in partnering with 1/3 cost split <br />each in 2023. <br />Total $1,236,400 <br /> <br />4. 2024 and Beyond. The list below is not exhaustive.
