The purpose of this action item is to gain approval to purchase vehicle and <br />equipment diagnostic computer <br /> <br />2. Background. This unit helps the mechanic trouble shoot error codes with vehicles and <br />equipment. In the past his was done from our vehicle repair contractor or dealership. The <br />mechanic position allows us to trouble shoot internally going forward to save time and cost. <br />The pro link provides thousands of tests, maintenance routines and programmable <br />parameters including engines, transmissions, brakes, body and chassis, and instrument <br />clusters. It including standard proprietary faults and data, eliminates the need to cross- <br />reference generic codes to OEM codes, the unit will displays proprietary faults and <br />data allowing the mechanic to trouble shoot more efficiently. The system is updatable <br />as software upgrades are pushed out. <br /> <br />3. Cost. The City received a quote for the equipment and related accessories, listed below <br /> <br />Company Company / Model Cost <br />Snap On Industrial. Pro-Link Edge / Solus legend Analyzer $12,532.13 <br /> Total: $12,532.13 <br /> <br />4. Funding. This project will be funded through the Equipment Fund. This item is not included in the 2022 CIP however even with its purchase at the end of year balance for the Equipment out lay fund is projected to be $570,000. <br />5. Staff Recommendation.
