MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> WORKSHOP <br /> Monday,April 18,2022 <br /> 5:30 o'clock p.m. <br /> The Orono Planning Commission met on the above-mentioned date with the following members present: <br /> Chair Mark McCutcheon,Commissioners Scott Kirchner,Bob Erickson,Gary Kraemer,and Jon Ressler. <br /> Representing Staff was Community Development Director Jeremy Barnhart,City Planners Laura Oakden <br /> and Melanie Curtis. <br /> Chair McCutcheon called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> Barnhart reviewed the standards for variances ion general terms,and noted the practical difficulties <br /> identified by State Statute. <br /> Barnhart noted the importance of the Commission's role in the public hearing[process, and that Council <br /> appreciate their review,their questions,and their raising of issues to be discussed. Barnhart noted that the <br /> Commissions should not try to guess what the Council wants to do on a particular item, but they should <br /> be able to support their decisions using the applicable standards, <br /> Commissioners discussed the changes.No action was taken. <br /> The Commission adjourned at 5:42. <br />
