LA22-000022 <br /> PC Ex A <br /> • <br /> 1 Code of Ordinances/Title VI - LAND USE Chapter 78-ZONING REGULATIONS/ARTICLE IX. - <br /> 2 SHORELAND MANAGEMENT/ DIVISION 3. -SHORELAND OVERLAY DISTRICT <br /> 3 STANDARDS <br /> 4 Sec. 78-1285. Vegetation alterations. <br /> 5 (a) No Give tree within 75 feet of the shoreline of public waters identified in section 78-1217, or within the bluff <br /> 6 impact zone with a diameter of six inches or more(or 19 inches in circumference or greater)measured three <br /> 7 feet above the ground may be removed without first obtaining a permit from the city staff. <br /> 8 Live trees removed within 75 feet of the shoreline,shall be replaced based in the following manner: <br /> 9 (1) Trees less than 36 inches in diameter 1 inch of replacement tree per inch of tree diameter removed. <br /> 10 (2) Trees greater than 36 inches in diameter,1/2 inch of replacement tree per diameter inch of tree <br /> 11 removed_ <br /> 12 (3) Replacement trees shall be at least 1.5 inches in diameter,and of a type approved by the city. Removal <br /> 13 of trees that are dead shall not require a permit, but such trees must be inspected by city staff prior to <br /> 14 their removal. <br /> 15 (4)XX-The replacement provisions in this subsection are not applicable to the removal of trees that are dead, <br /> 16 diseased, or pose safety hazards, in the written optinion of a certified arborist. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 (b) Intensive vegetation clearing within 75 feet of the shoreline of public waters identified in section 78-1217,on <br /> 19 steep slopes or within the bluff impact zone within the Shoreland Overlay District is prohibited. Limited <br /> 20 clearing of shrubs and trees less than six inches in diameter and cutting, pruning and trimming of trees of any410 <br /> 21 size is allowed to provide a view to the water from the principal dwelling site and to accommodate the <br /> 22 placement of permitted stairways and landings, picnic areas, access paths, beach and watercraft access <br /> 23 areas,and permitted lockboxes, provided that the screening of structures,vehicles or other facilities as <br /> 24 viewed from the water,assuming summer,leaf-on conditions, is not substantially reduced. <br /> 25 (Ord.
