'LENGE Test Report: 06-4010 May 5, 2006 Page 3 of 26 SETTING TNF STONGAflM [OBJECTIVE To certify the WESTERN EXG 3000 Liter MKII IBC *to the Design Qualification performance requirements outlined in: • Department of Transportation's Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations(CFR),Part 178: • Subpart N-Intermediate Bulk Container Performance-Oriented Standards;Section 178.705 • Subpart 0-Testing of Intermediate Bulk Containers: PACKAGING CODE PACKING AUTHORIZED INTERNAL DESIGNATION GROUP GROSS MASS** PRESSURE II 31A Medium Danger 4594.9 Kg 65&200 kPa Metal IBC for Liquids Hazardous Materials **Gross mass is calculated based on a maximum product specific gravity of 1.2 with IBC having revised dimensions This package is also certified for shipment under the International Regulatory Codes referenced in Appendix I. However, it is the responsibility of the shipper (end user)to determine package authorization for use under these hazardous materials regulations. Appendix I also references Industry Standards used in conducting this certification. NOTE(S): • TEN-E Packaging Services, Inc. was on site to witness and participate in the performance of the UN performance tests on this design. • *The container used for the test was manufactured specifically for conducting the Design Qualification tests. The size of the container as built exceeded the 3000 liter maximum capacity per 178.801 of 49 CFR. DOT issued an approval to allow Western to manufacture 1BC's not exceeding 3000 liters based on the container used for testing. Reference Appendix II for DOT Approval CA 2006040013. • Western also intends to manufacture the same design IBC with lesser dimensions per DOT 49 CFR 178.801(7)(iii). Refer to Appendix III for drawings for the 3000 Liter with revised dimensions as well as the 2000 Liter and 1000 Liter designs.
