I agree with the issueing of a permit but I am not sure that it should come from the Fire Department. I feel it should come from the City of Orono and both you (or someone from the City of Orono) and I could sign it. I also agree that all the safegaurds be required in this section but also the other sections of the State Fire Code. The Long Lake Fire Department doesn't have a permit drawn up or in place for this but maybe the City could grant them a temporary use permit to do this while there other option for the below ground tank is being worked on by the City Staff and is going through the process. It would be nice to have a time frame of 60 or 90 days. I found section 3406.5.4.5 in the fire code that deals with mobile fueling. One of the many requirements is that a permit be issued. I think the fire department should issue a permit that could be revoked if there are issues. I think it is important to require all the safeguards is this section to protect against spills and fire. Hopefully you have access to a code book there if not and you want to see the section I can email it to you.
