A few <br /> years ago while sitting on the patio at Birches watching the rowing team for the upteenth time, <br /> I decided to learn to row. Many of my neighbors in Long Lake/Orono and friends from the <br /> Lake Minnetonka community already were members and I wanted to try the sport too. I signed <br /> up through a Community Ed "Learn to Row" class and have been participating with them ever <br /> since. <br /> As a community resident who regularly uses the Orono beach, I am EXCITED to have public <br /> use bathrooms and a shower. I am also EXCITED to see more people in the park for crime <br /> reasons. Many times I have noticed the portapotty burned to the ground and teenagers up to no <br /> good. In a perfect world, less people would mean less problems but I think we all know that <br /> isn't the world we live in. I think with more activity and visibility in the park, it will reduce <br /> crime. I am excited to have people there so I don't need to worry about my car being broken <br /> into while I am walking my dogs on the new walking path. <br /> I have seen surprising dis-information campaigns online regarding the rowing club.
