From: Adam Edwards
•
To: "Mary Delmore"
Cc: Lona Lake Rowing Director;Melanie Curtis
Subject: RE:Support for LLRCProposal
Date: Tuesday,January 11,2022 4:01:02 PM
Mary,
Thank you. I'll forward your letter on to our planning department for inclusion in the planning
packet.
Adam
From: Mary Delmore [mailto:mary@mrdlaw.biz]
Sent:Tuesday,January 11, 2022 3:44 PM
To:Adam Edwards<aedwards@ci.orono.mn.us>
Cc: Long Lake Rowing Director<llrc@longlakerowing.org>
Subject:Support for LLRCProposal
Adam,
I am writing in support of the LLRC public/private partnership with City of Orono and to share my
personal involvement with LLRC. 111
I joined the LLRC after taking the Learn to Row class offered as part of Oronno community
education. Rowing on the lake certainly gives you a unique
knowledge of and respect for the beauty of the lake throughout the seasons.
I have found the rowers, LLRC management and coaches to be welcoming, gracious and community
oriented. They are very sensitive to and respectful of the lake and its residents.
Often when I share that I'm a LLRC rower people are very interested in hearing about the
experience. LLRC has great PR potential for the area and I feel the LLRC is an excellent ambassador.
I have participated and volunteered for Long Lake community events I hadn't prior to my
involvement with LLRC.
I've read the proposal and find it persuasive and not over stated.
•
The Delmores are strong supporters of the proposal and urge the City of Orono to support the
