5 <br /> <br />8.04 Longevity Pay: Beginning on the anniversary of the Employee's 8th year of service, a longevity <br />incentive will be applied to the hourly rate/salary of the Employee. The Employee shall receive $0.05 per hour <br />per year of service 8 years and above as a longevity incentive. This will be effective July 1, 2018 and will be <br />adjusted at the employment anniversary of each Employee. This will be added to the Employee's hourly wage <br />and is based on 2080 working hours per year. <br /> Sample calculations: <br /> 8 (years of service) x $0.05 = $0.40; Longevity pay= $0.40 x 2080 = $832 <br /> 17 (years of service) x $0.05 = $0.85; Longevity pay = $0.85 x 2080 = $1,768 <br /> <br />8.05 Temporary Higher Rate: An Employee who is temporarily assigned a position in a higher rated job <br />and who performs the major duties of the higher rated job for a period of more than 10 days, shall receive the rate <br />of pay as outlined in the pay scale for all hours worked in the higher rated job. The assignment must be approved <br />by the City Administrator. <br /> <br />8.06 Department Head: If a bargaining unit Employee is assigned to department head duties, they shall <br />earn the starting step of department head pay. <br /> <br />8.07 Training: To keep staff knowledgeable and improve their skills to do their jobs better, Employees will <br />be eligible to participate in training and professional development for coursework directly related to the job/position <br />with prior approval of their supervisor, with the Employer paying for the training or professional development. <br /> <br />ARTICLE 9 <br />GROUP INSURANCE <br /> <br />9.01 Selection of Carrier: The selection of the insurance carrier and policy shall be made by the Employer. <br />The City Administrator will meet and confer with the exclusive union representative upon request regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br />9.02 Insurances: The Employer's contribution per full-time Employee in accordance with Affordable Care <br />Act receiving single health insurance coverage is $915.00 per month towards a cafeteria benefit plan that offers <br />group health, life, long-term disability and dental insurance, for the years 2021 and 2022. The Employer's <br />contribution per Employee receiving family health insurance coverage is $1,457.50 per month towards a cafeteria <br />benefit plan that offers group health, life, long-term disability and dental insurance, for the year 2021. For 2022, <br />the Employer's contribution per Employee receiving family health insurance coverage is the same amount of <br />$1,457.50 per month plus 50% of any increase in the family health insurance premium, toward a cafeteria benefit <br />plan that offers group health, life, long-term disability and dental insurance, all of which is subject to the health <br />insurance opt-out provisions set out in Paragraph 9.03. <br /> <br />9.03 Health Insurance Opt-Out Option: If a health insurance opt-out option is available with the City's <br />group health insurance plan, an Employee who has health insurance through a group-sponsored plan elsewhere <br />may elect to waive health insurance coverage. An Employee who waives health insurance coverage will receive, <br />as the City's insurance contribution, the difference between the lowest cost single coverage health insurance plan <br />and the City's single insurance contribution, as set out in paragraph 9.02, as an opt-out credit to use through the <br />City's cafeteria benefit plan. <br /> <br />9.05 Life Insurance: The Employer will provide group term life insurance for each eligible Employee <br />enrolled in and who qualifies for the Employer life insurance plan. Each eligible Employee may purchase additional <br />group term life insurance policy through payroll deduction. <br /> <br />9.06 Involuntary Reductions: Continuation of Benefits: Full-time Employees whose hours are involuntarily <br />reduced shall continue to receive full Employer contribution for insurance benefits. <br /> <br />
