This application is regarding variances to permit a rooftop deck. <br /> <br />2. MN§15.99 Application Deadline. The application was received and considered to be complete <br />on January 18, 2021.Therefore the 60-Day review period expires on March 29, 2021. <br /> <br />3. Background/ Summary. The existing nonconforming building on the property is currently <br />undergoing a renovation as a home with a partial 2nd story addition. The applicant would like to <br />expand the existing rooftop deck area more toward the edge of the building to expand the outdoor <br />living space. Due to the location of the existing building, outdoor recreation/living space is quite <br />limited; rear and side street setback variances are requested to permit the railings. The <br />encroaching portions of the deck currently show black coated aluminum railing with cables. <br /> <br />4. Planning Commission Vote and Comment. On February 16th, the Planning Commission held a <br />public hearing. Following the public hearing the Planning Commission voted 7 to 0 on a motion <br />to approve the requested setback variances. <br /> <br />5. Public Comment. Neighbor acknowledgements forms were submitted; no written comments <br />from the neighbors were received. <br /> <br />6. Staff Recommendation.
