This application is regarding an average lakeshore setback variance to construct a <br />lakeside porch. <br /> <br />2. MN§15.99 Application Deadline. The application was received on September 23rd, and was <br />considered to be complete on September 24th. Therefore the 60-Day review period expires on <br />November 23, 2020. <br /> <br />3. Background/ Summary. The owners would like to construct a roofed porch addition on the <br />lakeside of the home, on the 2nd floor, which will extend into the average lakeshore setback. The <br />current home is situated partially ahead of the average lakeshore setback. The addition would be <br />entirely within the average lakeshore setback and is proposed to extend 10 feet further toward the <br />lake than the home, expanding the encroachment. <br /> <br /> 4. Planning Commission Vote and Comment. On October, 19th, the Planning Commission held a <br />public hearing. The Commission discussed the location of the existing improvements on the <br />property and potential impacts to the neighbors on the west side. Following the public hearing the <br />Planning Commission voted 6 to 0 on a motion to approve the requested variance. <br /> <br />5. Public Comment. Supportive comments from the neighbors on the east side were received and <br />are attached as Exhibit D. <br /> <br />6. Staff Recommendation.
