The purpose of this action item is to appoint Alicia Johnson to the position of Municipal <br />Services Support Representative (MSSR) with a starting date of 07/13/20. <br /> <br />2. Background. The selection process for the MSSR position has been completed. A total of 37 <br />applications were received. After an initial review of the applications, three applicants were selected to <br />be interviewed. These interviews were conducted by the City Clerk and Community Development <br />Director. <br /> <br />The top candidate for the position is Alicia Johnson. Alicia has knowledge of Orono’s current processes <br />and has be assisting in various administrative capacities since December 2019. Alicia has experience <br />working with Orono’s property records, scanning systems, Citizenserve, Elections and the city website. <br />Alicia has a strong work ethic and will be an excellent addition to our staff. <br /> <br />3. Cost. Alicia Johnson will be hired as the MSSR at the Start Step of Grade 5, with a salary of $46,410.95 <br />on the Compensation Plan for Local 12 Employees. This is a full time position and is eligible for full city <br />benefits including enrollment in the Coordinated Plan of the Public Employees Retirement Association <br />(PERA). <br /> <br />4. Funding. Funding for this position is included in the 2020 Administration and Planning & Zoning <br />budget. <br /> <br />5. Staff Recommendation.
