-There would be a level of intimidation if a private club were to be built on public land <br />in that non club members would not be able to fully relax and enjoy the public space <br />with rower's coming and going, and the reduced natural beauty that would be <br />replaced with man made construction. <br />Rowing is an amazing sport, and I am happy that it is available to our community, <br />however, the majority of residents in Orono and Long Lake do not participate in this <br />sport, they DO participate in enjoying our public beaches, swimming, picnic area, <br />rope swing, and natural beauty year round. As council members, you were elected to <br />uphold the interests and safety of the majority of your constituents, please keep this in <br />mind when reviewing this proposal. <br />Thank you for dedication to our community and your consideration, <br />Heather Jackson <br />Club sandwiches, not seals!
