KDS-TCJ-AGG <br /> 06/2001 <br /> KILKENNY SERIES <br /> ' The Kilkenny series consists of very deep, moderately well drained soils that formed in a mantle of <br /> clayey glacial till or flow till and underlying loamy glacial till on moraines. These soils have moderately <br /> slow permeability. Their slopes range from 2 to 35 percent. The mean annual precipitation is about 28 <br /> inches. Mean annual air temperature is about 48 degrees F. <br /> TAXONOMIC CLASS: Fine, smectitic, mesic Oxyaquic Vertic Hapludalfs <br /> ' TYPICAL PEDON: Kilkenny clay loam with a 15 percent linear sideslope on a glacial moraine in a <br /> pastured field. (Colors are for moist soil unless otherwise noted.) <br /> Ap--O to 9 inches; very dark brown(1 OYR 2/2)clay loam, dark grayish brown(1 OYR 4/2) dry; weak <br /> fine granular structure; friable; common very fine roots; about 2 percent gravel; moderately acid(pH <br /> 5.6); abrupt smooth boundayr.
