Section 5. The City Council of the City of Orono hereby amends City Code Chapter <br /> 78, Article IX. Shoreland Management, Division 1. Generally, Section 78-1211 as <br /> follows: <br /> All existing definitions in Section 78-1211 are restated and incorporated herein unchanged <br /> with the following exception: <br /> Hardcover means any material that interferes to any degree with the direct <br /> .. • - - • -; - , _ . - . .. . -- . ., .-, •- .. <br /> sidewalks,ramps, etc.; any surface intended to be driven on; landscape beds lined with <br /> that prevents direct absorption of rainfall into the ground and that is stored for an <br /> extended period of time. <br /> Section 6. The City Council of the City of Orono hereby amends City Code Chapter <br /> 78, Article IX. Shoreland Management, Division 3. Shoreland Overlay District <br /> Standards, Section 78-1288 as follows: <br /> Section 78-1288 is hereby deleted in its entirety. <br /> Section 78-1288.—Hardcover limitations <br /> Hardcover on all lots within the Shoreland Overlay District shall comply with the <br /> requirements of Article XIII: Stormwater Quality Overlay District. <br /> Section 7. The City Council of the City of Orono hereby amends City Code Chapter <br /> 78,Article IX. Shoreland Management, Division 3. Shoreland Overlay District <br /> Standards, Section 78-1329 as follows: <br /> Preamble language and current subsection(1)is restated and incorporated herein <br /> unchanged. <br /> (2) Be designed and constructed to effectively manage reasonably expected quantities <br /> and qualities of stormwater runoff. Impervious surface coverage within any tier <br /> must not exceed 25 percent of the tier area, except that credit for unused hard <br /> cover allowance in tiers near the lake may be used in tiers further from the lake. <br /> 1'aQ-c of 1.' <br />
