AGENDA ITEM <br />Item No.: 8 <br />Date: November 22, 2021 <br />Item Description: Approval of Proposed 2022 Official Meetings Calendar <br />Presenter: Anna Carlson, Agenda Consent Agenda <br />City Clerk Section: <br />1. Purpose. The purpose of this action item is to approve the 2022 Official Calendar. <br />2. Background. <br />a. Council Meetings. Council meetings are scheduled for the second and fourth Mondays of the <br />month at 6:00 p.m. Generally only one Council meeting is scheduled in December. The annual budget <br />hearing will be held on Monday, December 12' at the City Council meeting beginning at 6:00 p.m. <br />b. Council Work Sessions. Council work sessions are scheduled for the second and fourth <br />Mondays of the month at 5:00 p.m. No work session is scheduled for December. <br />c. Planning Commission Meetings. Planning Commission meetings are scheduled for the third <br />Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. January, February, and June are the exceptions because of Monday <br />holidays. In those months, the meetings will be held the following Tuesday. No Planning Commission <br />meeting is scheduled in December. <br />d. Planning Commission Work Sessions. Planning Commission work sessions will be scheduled <br />on an as needed basis and are not reflected on the 2022 calendar. <br />e. Park Commission Meetings. Park Commission meetings are scheduled for the first Monday of <br />February, May, *September, and November and begin at 6:00 p.m. (Note: *The September meeting will <br />be held on Tuesday because of a Monday Holiday) <br />f. Park Commission Work Sessions. Park Commission work sessions scheduled for the first <br />Monday of January, March, April, June, *July, August, and October and begin at 6:00 p.m. (Note: * The <br />July work session will be held on Tuesday because of a Monday Holiday) <br />g. Holiday Schedule. According to the City's personnel policy, the City schedules twelve holidays <br />throughout the year, which include regular holidays. The regular holidays observed are New Year's Day, <br />Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Juneteenth, Labor Day, <br />Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. <br />3. Staff Recommendation.
