This application is regarding an average lakeshore setback variance for a small deck <br />expansion. <br /> <br />2. MN§15.99 Application Deadline. The application was received and was considered to be complete <br />on May 21, 2021. The 60-Day review period has been extended and now expires on September 21, 2021. <br /> <br />3. Background/ Summary. The applicant requested an average lakeshore setback variance in order to <br />construct a 47 square foot addition on the lake side of the existing deck (shown in yellow on Exhibit B). <br />A small 2-3 foot portion of the existing deck currently encroaches into the average lakeshore setback. <br /> <br />4. Planning Commission Vote and <br />Comment. On July 19th, the Planning <br />Commission held a public hearing. <br />Following the public hearing the Planning <br />Commission voted 6 to 0 on a motion to <br />approve the requested variance as proposed. <br /> <br />5. Public Comment. No comments from <br />the neighbors were received, the neighbors <br />on either side of the property signed the <br />application acknowledgement form. <br /> <br />6. Staff Recommendation. Planning Staff <br />recommends approval of the average <br />lakeshore setback variance, subject to the site’s hardcover not increasing above the 25% maximum. <br /> <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to adopt or amend the approval resolution. <br /> <br />Exhibits <br />A.
