Contractor shall submit traffic <br />control plan for work along Orchard Road. <br />3.Contractor shall provide continuous driveway access for <br />all residents along the project alignment. <br />4.Working Hours shall be limited to 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. <br />Monday - Friday. Weekend and Holiday working hours <br />must be requested and approved and shall be limited to <br />8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.. <br />Force Main <br />1.Force main material shall be HDPE SDR-11 sized for IPS <br />complying with ASTM D2239 and ASTM D3035. Fittings <br />shall be molded and comply with ASTM D3261, ASTM <br />D2683, or ASTM F1056 depending on proposed coupling <br />method. <br />2.Force main shall have minimum 8 feet of ground cover. <br />3.Force main to be pressure tested to 100 psi for 1 hour <br />with no leakage. <br />4.Service connections to be made per EOne requirements. <br />5.Curb stop shutoffs shall be constructed just inside of the <br />property line as shown on drawings and be capped on <br />the residential side. <br />Earthwork <br />1.Excavate trenches sufficiently wide to enable installation <br />and allow inspection. <br />2.Contractor shall dewater all open trench areas to a depth <br />of at least 12 inches below invert of forcemain per City of <br />Orono standards. <br />3.Place and compact backfill materials in maximum 12 inch <br />lifts. <br />4.Restore disturbed areas to original grade. <br />Tracer Wire <br />1.Tracer wire shall be installed for the entire length of force <br />main. <br />2.Tracer wire shall be minimum 12 AWG copper clad steel <br />rated to 30 volts and be insulated with minimum 30 mil <br />HDPE per ASTM D1248. <br />3.Tracer wires shall be interconnected with approved <br />at-grade access box at HDD/open cut transition locations <br />or maximum 500 foot spacings and be grounded at all <br />ends. <br />Horizontal Directional Drilling <br />1.Contractor shall be responsible for protecting all existing <br />utilities withing the construction limits. <br />2.Contractor shall protect open drilling pits from surface <br />water entering. <br />3.Contractor shall submit proposed alignment and drilling <br />pit locations to Engineer before beginning construction. <br />4.The drilling equipment shall be capable of placing the <br />pipe as shown on the plans. <br />5.Drill path to be monitored for depth, pitch, and position <br />at all times. The guidance system shall be capable of <br />installing pipe within 1 ½ inches of the plan vertical and 2 <br />inches of the plan horizontal. <br />6.Pull back forces shall not exceed the allowable pulling <br />forces for the pipe being installed. <br />7.Drilling fluid shall be a mixture of water and bentonite <br />clay and shall be suitable for existing soil conditions. <br />Contractor shall provide water and bentonite clay. <br />8.Disposal of excess fluid and spoils shall be the <br />responsibility of the Contractor. <br />NOTES & SPECIFICATIONS <br />C3.01NOTES AND SPECIFICATIONS <br />73 <br />ORCHARD CREEK LOW PRESSURE SEWER EXTENSION
