The purpose of this action item is to appoint Carrie Krienke to the position of Accountant <br />with a starting date of August 16th, 2021. <br /> <br />2. Background. The selection process for the Accountant position has been completed. A total of 19 <br />applications were received. After an initial review of the applications, five applicants were selected to be <br />interviewed. <br /> <br />3. Top Candidate. The top candidate for the position is Carrie Krienke. Carrie has a degree from St <br />Cloud Technical and Community College. Carrie currently works for the City of Maple Lake and prior to <br />that worked for seven years for the City of Annandale. Her education and experience will make her a <br />valuable member of the Finance Department. <br /> <br />4. Cost. This position is a union position and will be compensated at the starting step of level 11 in the <br />Local 12 pay scale ($69,273.24). This is a full time position and is eligible for full city benefits including <br />enrollment in the Coordinated Plan of the Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA). <br /> <br />5. Funding. This position is funded through the Finance Department in the General Fund. There is <br />adequate funding in the 2021 department budget for this position. <br /> <br />6. Staff Recommendation.
