The use of tax increment financing requires that a tax increment financing <br /> district and a development district be established. This requires a public hearing process. Because <br /> of the length of the necessary hearing notice,the earliest regular council meeting at which the hearing <br /> can be held is the meeting of May 14, 2001. A resolution scheduling the hearing is attached for <br /> council adoption. <br /> COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> Motion to adopt the attached resolution scheduling a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May <br /> 14, 2001, for the purpose of establishing a development district and a tax increment district. <br />
