Sent By: LOUCKS ASSOCIATES , INC. ; 612 424 5822; Nov-26-01 6:33AM; Page 2/4
I
Mr . Frank Dunbar 17 December 13 , 2000
GME Project No . 9206-A
separating fabric . This would reduce Lice potential for the granular
base course to become fouled (mixed) with the underlying fine
grained soils .
i
To help prolong the life of the pavement, we
recommend that end drains and finger drains (stub drains) extending
out from catch basins be incorporated in the base course to help
remove infiltrating water.
CONSTRUCTION CONSIDERATIONS
Groundwater
We did not encounter groundwater in the borings drilled for this
project . However, it is possible that perched groundwater layers
could be present above the base of excavation at the time of
construction. Any water that enters excavations for buildings or
utilities from perched groundwater seepage, surface runoff, or
precipitation should be promptly pumped out . The contractors should
not allow water to stand ponded over the foundation or subgrade
soils, as this could soften or disturb them.
OMi CONSUIT4NT5.INC.
