SEPTIC SYSTEM DESIGN <br />DESIGN CRITERIA; <br />A New SSTS for an existing 3 bedroom single family home without a garbage <br />disposal is proposed. <br />WATER USAGE; <br />454 gallons per day maximum. <br />PERCOLATION RATE; <br />40 minutes per inch. <br />SEPTIC TANK; <br />Install one 2004 gallon double compartment septic tank or two 1000 gallon single <br />compartment septic tanks please see detail. <br />NOTES: 1) Tanks require pumping once every three years <br />2) Use "APPROVED" tanks only. <br />PUMP CHAMBER; <br />Install a 1,000 gallon precast tank. Set as specified. <br />NOTES: 1) An event counter required <br />2) Use "APPROVED" tanks only. <br />DRAINFIELD; <br />Treatment Mound, Pressure distribution required. Located on 3% slope. Total <br />sand area is 45 feet by 74 feet. Rack bed measures 10 feet by 40 feet. 25 Tans of <br />rock required. Downslope dike width is 21 feet, upslope dike width is 14 feet and <br />the end dikes are 17 feet. 281 Tons of sand required. Please see detail. <br />GENERAL CONSTRUCTION PRACTICES; <br />Divert all surface water away from the drainfield area. Do not disturb the <br />drainfield area during construction.
